Rev. Fred Doscher joined the staff in February of 2004 as interim organist, and then began as Minister of Music and Youth in April 2004. Rev. Doscher (Fred) did youth ministry early in his career; started and ran a nursery school with his wife, Margee, and then took a pastorate in Oswego, NY in 1981. In 1986 he came to the Hightstown NJ Presbyterian Church, where he remained as pastor until February of 2002. Fred's undergraduate studies were in music at Maryville College, and then he went to Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in preparation for the ministry. He and Margee have three grown children who live in New Hampshire.

Our Office Manager is June Nicora, a member of our staff for the past 16 years. Ms. Nicora is the principal contact person for members of the community as she manages the church office.

The Session is the body responsible for the overall program, organization, mission and spiritual life of our church. It consists of 18 elders elected by the congregation and is moderated by the Pastor. Much of the work of the Session is done through it's various Commissions and Committees.
The Board of Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan has been called by God to minister to those in need in our congregation, as well as those in need in our community. The Board is the physical manifestation of our love and compassion for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
