First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, New Jersey

Youth ministry has long been a strong part of our church program. We seek to provide the youth of our church and community with a lively, faith-oriented and versatile program of discussion, activity, service, recreation and fellowship. Rev. Fred Doscher is our Minister for Music and Youth.

Junior high youth meets every Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. beginning with dinner and fellowship. Discussions and sharing takes place under the leadership of our group of experienced advisors. Retreats, lock-ins, and other special events are also part of the on-going programs.

Senior high youth also meets every Sunday evening at 5:00, beginning with dinner and fellowship. Discussions dealing with current youth issues and other topics of interest are conducted by the youth and their group of advisors. Service projects, recreation, retreats, and other special programs round out the program.

Youth are active in congregational worship leadership, and many of them participate in groups such as the Outreach (Drama) Choir. Youth of our area are always invited and are welcome to attend.
